Moringa Oleifera Drumsticks (Fruits)
Moringa Drumsticks, also called drumsticks, are the fruits of the Moringa tree. They can be up to 70 cm long,
contain many important nutrients and have very good healing therapeutic effects. These fruits are
often already harvested about 40 days after they blossomed since they form a woody skin during the
ripening process. Meanwhile, we also know that the seeds of the fruit have antibacterial effects
and even purivy bacterially infected water.
They have their own taste, but close to that of the German spit. In Sri Lanka and India, Moringa drumsticks are very popular
and are consumed there almost daily. They are cooked for example in a soup called Sambar or eaten in a mild curry with aubergines, turmeric
and coconut milk. Moringa drumsticks are peeled, halved and cut into 10 cm long pieces before use. Because the shell
of the fruit is not edible, the pulp is sucked out.
The preparation of a Drumstick Soup , as it is called in English-speaking countries, is very simple. You cook a handful
fresh drumsticks for 15 minutes on low heat. To improve the flavor you can add salt, pepper and some lemon juice.
